ChilliWinter’s Candle Making Workshops
Enjoy a 3 – hour creative and fun experience, making SEVEN candles (and some wax melts) that you will take home with you. Workshops are £48 per person, including all equipment and materials. (Please contact us direct if you wish to book a private workshop).
Ultimately, we want every participant to enjoy themselves and have fun!
We take safety seriously, and this ensures hazards are identified and risks are reduced, proactively. We are fully insured, provide personal protective equipment. We provide briefings on safe practices throughout the workshop, as needed for each activity. A detailed risk assessment is in place, and this is reviewed regularly. For a copy of this and/or our insurance documents, please contact
The philosophy behind our workshops is to create fun, hands-on and memorable activities around candle-making, that are interesting and appealing to young people and adults.
You will learn about different types of candles that are made in the UK and develop skills to make your own using natural soy wax, beeswax and paraffin wax, that you will take home home with you, together with some hand made wax melts.
You will choose from a variety of fragrances and dyes to personalise your handmade creations, whilst gaining an understanding of the different materials that are commonly used (wax, wicks, dyes, containers, fragrances, etc).
Our popular local workshop will guide you through these four candle-making techniques in a relaxed and informal setting:
- Silicone moulded
- Dipped and tapered
Group Size & Age Restrictions:
Groups sizes of between 6 – 16 will be led by one or two ChilliWinter chandlers, depending on the size and needs of the group. Small groups allow a good level of interaction, support and engagement, making the experiences thoroughly enjoyable and memorable. Due to the nature of the safety hazards of our workshops, children aged 8 – 15 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Light refreshments are not provided, unless specifically advertised for a social event by the host venue. Participants may bring their own drinks and snacks, or purchase these from the host venue direct, if available.
Mobility & Comfort:
Each venue’s accessibility, temperature and lighting are different. Aprons, goggles and gloves will be provided, however we ask that you wear comfortable clothing that is suitable for a creative workshop. Please make sure you are familiar with the venue and consider your ease of mobility before you book. If you have any questions or specific requirements, please get in touch with the venue, or with us.
Cancellations and refunds:
As with most workshops, our places are highly sought after, and a lot of preparation and materials are ordered and organised in advance. It is for this reason that cancellations should be made with as much notice as possible so we can advertise and fill your place. If we are able to move your space to an alternative date, you may be charged an administration fee. This is due to venue charges and lost revenue. Refunds are only provided where 21 calendar days’ advance notice of the workshop date has been given.
