A variation on our glass jar sunflower candles, these delightful dipped and tapered dining candles are a lovely alternative, with each displaying a beautifully simple sunflower image. Hand-dipped in Cowes on the Isle of Wight, no pair will be the same!
Set off your candle beautifully with a hand-thrown and fired ceramic Wee-Willie-Winkie candle holder, made by Kirstie Hayler of Firestone Studios, from Havenstreet on the Isle of Wight. To learn more about Firestone Studios, visit their website or check out @firestonestudios on social media!
All tapered rainbow candles are made from paraffin wax, as soy wax does not have the structure to form such shapes and finish.
We are immensely proud to support Mountbatten’s 2020 Sunflower Campaign, with our own ‘Hello Sunshine!’ promotion. Across our gorgeous ‘Hello Sunshine!’ Collection, we have several choices which are designed to be uplifting for you – both in appearance, and with scents that will brighten and enhance your mood.
The Sunflower itself is an iconic image, and although it doesn’t have a fragrance itself, it is widely regarded for its beauty. Not only because of its naturally bold and strong architectural stature and colourful varieties, but because it is a symbol of resilience – of happier, brighter times. To quote Helen Mirren’s character from The Calendar Girls Film (2003):
“I don’t think there’s anything on this planet that more trumpets life that the sunflower. For me that’s because of the reason behind its name. Not because it looks like the sun but because it follows the sun. During the course of the day, the head tracks the journey of the sun across the sky. A satellite dish for sunshine. Wherever light is, no matter how weak, these flowers will find it. And that’s such an admirable thing. And such a lesson in life.”
ALL ChilliWinter ‘Hello Sunshine!’ candles are made at a NOT FOR PROFIT PRICE, and with a donation from EVERY purchase going directly to Mountbatten Isle of Wight to support its hospice pledge, as it’s normal fundraising events and activities take a significantly different approach this year, directly due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Mountbatten provides vital services across the Isle of Wight Community to provide care to those most in need and their families and its annual fundraising revenue is absolutely essential to its continuation. Thank you so very much in advance, for your support. https://www.mountbatten.org.uk/.
