Our Candles

About WoodWicks

WoodWicks are an innovative alternative to traditional cotton wicks.  Commonly used traditional wicks and paraffin wax burn tall, bright and fast producing smoke and allergens.

Not only do WoodWicks burn cleanly and disperse fragrance excellently, they also generate subtle crackle sounds, creating a captivating acoustic ambiance. The soothing crackling sounds of WoodWicks bring a whole new sensory delight to your candles.

WoodWicks with soy wax produces a gently glowing ambient flame which burns very slowly meaning your ChilliWinter candle will last for longer.  Ideally trimmed to 5mm your WoodWick candle may light first time or may take 2 – 3 attempts to get going. The key to achieving the perfect burn is to always allow your candle to completely liquefy across the top before blowing it out to avoid tunnelling.

Soy Wax

Our ChilliWinter candles are made with all natural 100% pure soy wax as it is an environmentally sustainable choice.  Soy wax is derived from soy beans and has a soft creamy appearance. It burns more slowly than paraffin and has no additives. This is good news for asthmatics and those with sensitivities or allergies. The wax is melted to an optimum temperature before fragrance/essential oils are added, and synthetic dye is blended together before pouring into a container.

Each ChilliWinter candle is made by hand in small batches and so the finish always varies slightly – after all, it isn’t an exact science. Each batch is carefully tested to ensure the quality of wax, scent and wick is checked before being sent to customers and stockists.
